Uganda Shines at the World Robot Olympiad Global Finals in Singapore: Two Ugandan Teams Take the Global Stage

Uganda made a powerful mark on the global robotics map when two teams represented the country at the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) 2025 International Finals in Singapore. This moment didn't just symbolize progress — it highlighted Uganda's growing strength in STEM education, robotics innovation, and youth empowerment.

Meet the Ugandan Teams That Competed in Singapore

Uganda proudly fielded two teams, each showcasing creativity, resilience and global-level engineering skills:

Junior Category – The Olive School Namugongo

The Olive School Namugongo's junior team earned their slot after an outstanding performance at the national championships. Their robot impressed judges with:

  • Clear engineering design
  • Creativity
  • Strong teamwork
  • Excellent adaptation to the competition rules

For many of these learners, this was their first time traveling outside Uganda — yet they performed with confidence and global readiness.

Senior Category – Kampala Diplomatic International School

The senior team from Kampala Diplomatic International School didn't just compete — they excelled. They were 1st runner-up at the national championship, securing their place at the global finals. Their maturity, problem-solving, and programming skills put them shoulder-to-shoulder with competitors from the world's leading STEM nations. Their journey to Singapore is an inspiration for every Ugandan learner who dreams of becoming an engineer, inventor, or innovator.
